After almost seven years partnering with the David Lawrence Centers, Storytellers Creative Arts is extending its reach of hope and healing to men and women battling addiction and mental illness with its "Arts for Recovery"ministry at DLC's newly opened "Hope Home."
David Lawrence Center's Hope Home is a recovery residence that provides safe, sober, and affordable housing to individuals in early recovery, where they can continue the work they have begun at DLC's Crossroads Recovery Residential program or other treatment programs.
Arts for Recovery (AFR) is a Christian faith-based program. Sessions include music, bible teaching with group discussion, prayer and creative expression, offering an array of therapeutic arts activities and hands-on art instruction in the areas of visual arts, music, creative writing, drama, and other areas.

DLC President and CEO Scott Burgess offered comments:
"We are honored to partner with Bill Barnett and Storytellers Creative Arts for the past 6 years, now expanding its ministry of hope and healing to the residents at Hope Home serving those who come to us often in their darkest hours. Through holistic care, prayer, and expressive arts programs, thousands are embracing the light of hope and faith needed to overcome the disease of addiction."
Participating in the arts can inspire, motivate, and challenge us. The arts increase confidence, self- esteem, and skills – providing opportunities for future training and career advancement. Arts for Recovery celebrates the value of creative and cultural activities to heal the disadvantaged. The unique combination of the Gospel and the arts achieves a range of outcomes.
God works through the arts to unlock stories, opening up avenues for healing, igniting the senses, touching the heart, and healing the soul. Arts for Recovery offers individuals a chance to tell their stories through creative arts, releasing deep hurts.
